I read today that the first Camino ever walk was the Norte then continuing on the Primitivo.

If this is true? Why is the Camino Francés so popular?. Is there an historical reason for that?

Sorry I should have keep the source of the article.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Actually, King Alfonso of Asturias is considered to be the first pilgirm - from Oviedo to Santiago de Compostela. The Camino Primitivo is also knows as the Original Camino. The reason for the popularity of the Francés is because so many traditional routes from other countries in Europe converge into that route.
