Yikes. Two weeks from flying out of Australia to do the CF and my washing machine has died. It wasn't that long ago on this very forum that I was writing about how much I liked handwashing and those serviceable Spanish wash tubs. Thinking this might be my first lesson for this camino.

Since you are from Australia I would like to note a couple of your countrymen have devised the best hand washing method I have found. They have modified a waterproof bag to do washing and it works great. https://thescrubba.com/

Those Scrubba bags are a huge price. I'm all for simplicity, being just aa simple person, so I wash everything in a bar of cheap toilet soap - body, hair, clothes (including Merino). The Icebreaker gear bought in 2010 have survived many Caminos and unpteen bush walks at home. The washing instructions on mine includes the words 'no hot driers'

Some places do have washers and driers for 3€ each. You could share the cost with other pilgrims. I liked the washer as it really wrung out the water better than hand and clothes dried faster once in a while I would use a drier.

you use whatever is there, machines and driers - great if not wear your cloths in the shower -not if they are muddy!!
