Time of past OR future Camino
may (2015)
My friend and I are first timers on the Camino and only have 8 fulls days on walking this time. So we are thinking of starting in Portomarin and ending in Finisterre because we like the thought of reaching the coast. We are flying into Vigo May 2nd around mid-day. I'm wondering what is the best way to get from Vigo airport to Portomarin or Ligonde? Also, what are options for transportation from Finisterre to Vigo airport May 11th if the flight is 6:45am or 9:30am? We are also open to other suggestions from people for a beautiful 8 days on the camino for first timers. Flying into and out of Vigo or madrid. Thanks. We are excited to join the Camino and hope to one day walk it all.

you won't get a Compostela with your plan, perhaps you don't mind.

Finisterre to vigo is a long ways, via Santiago. You might not make it. Vigo to portomarin is thru Santiago connecting

8 days makes a nice and easy sarria-sdc

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
And sarria-sdc you do get a compostelo, right? That's where you have to begin to qualify for the last 100km compostelo?

Can you tell me what website to go to or how to figure out the connections for transport from Vigo to Sarria, or Portomarin or Finisterre. I see that you mention they are through Santiago, but I don't know where to go to figure out all the details and timing and stuff.

For the Compostela you have to walk at least the last 100km, Sarria is the most accessible town to do that (~120km to Santiago). If you can walk 20+km each day, you still can continue to Finisterra or Muxia inside your time frame. For travel inside Spain alsa.es (bus) or renfe.es (train) is your friend. Buen Camino! SY
