fleas in sleeping bag

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Hi proff and welcome! Not easy from your post to know whether you have an infestation of bed bugs or fleas.... Can you do a search on the forum for bed bugs and how to get rid of them? @SYates did post a very comprehensive guide.
I'll try and find it for you,
All the best.

Here it is: https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/resources/de-bed-bugging-your-camino-gear.483/

I did wake up from a siesta on a flea infested pillow and that was easier to deal with. I put everything through the wash, again and through a dryer. Not sure what the hospitalera did with the bedding... Probably the same.
The fleas were there because she had taken in a pilgrim with a puppy... I don't think from her reaction she'll do that again in a hurry!

Off topic, I know, but can anyone remember a thread about ticks? Not the usual one about Lymes disease, but some new species or new disease being spread by ticks that was new to Spain. I have a hazy recollection but don't seem to be able to find it by using the search engine. I'm asking because I have a friend who is not well and the doctors are struggling. Like Lymes disease, these strange tick borne diseases are not on every doctors radar.....

Lymes disease can have many symptoms that are not well known, even by doctors. On the same thread that @Kanga sent you too but just a few posts above the one she linked to I gave a couple links to an online version of a paper pamphlet someone gave me and Peg. Your friends's doctors may find this useful in determining what your friend has.
