Can someone tell me best airline for flight from Barcelona to Lyon? I hear bad stories about Vueling. There’s Easy Jet I know little about.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
I'd be curious to know what bad stories you have heard about Vueling. FWIW, I don't know a single airline about which I have not yet heard or read bad stories. I've flown with both EasyJet and Vueling. They are both European low cost airlines. EasyJet has been in the business for close to 30 years, and Vueling for close to 20 years.

According to Skyscanner and Lyon's destination map, Vueling and EasyJet are currently the only ones who offer a direct flight from Barcelona to Lyon. Later in the season, Iberia will also fly directly but this may be only code-sharing and the Iberia flight will actually be operated by Vueling.

It's a one and a half hour flight.

Veuling had very little legroom when we flew. EasyJet was somewhat better. With both check the restrictions on hand luggage size and bag checking when and if you book.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
My flight on Easy Jet, from Barcelona to Lyon in late September, was without any problems. Also had a good flight on Vueling from Santiago to Barcelona… bag restrictions were more severe on Vueling. I paid extra to get my smallish backpack onboard

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Hi Bill,
Not a flight, but you might consider a train. According to www.rome2rio.com the train takes about an hour more than the flight, and it puts you in the right place to do the onward journey to Le Puy. From experience, I think you will spend a hour getting out of the airport, on to the commuter rail to the Lyon train station, which is where you need to be anyway. Check it out.

Possible downside? You might have to spend a night in Barcelona, which if you haven't seen the Basilica Sagrida Familia, makes the stopover ver worthwhile.

Load the entire trip (Barcelona -BCN to Le Puy en Valay) into the rome2rio search for all the connection options.

Totally agree on the train option. Vueling and Easy Jet are equally good. Do look closely at the baggage requirements and make sure to add what you need. I also find booking a seat toward the front is useful so I can get my stuff overhead easily.

If you’re in BCN for a day or so and want a bit of a walking tour around the old city let me know.

I too have flown Vueling many times without any problems. You are right that without too much searching you can find a slew of angry passengers with every airline flying. I have booked flights to and from home to destinations in San Sebastian and Sevilla and return flights from Santiago to Madrid or Barcelona and they have been on Vueling that are code shared with Iberia. I am not sure but it seems like all of the connecting flights I have ever seen within Spain that start in the United States or Mexico are all Vueling or Iberia Express flights. Leaving Santiago to either Madrid or Barcelona to go home I have been able to book on both the Vueling or Iberia site. I always check both to see the prices. Sometimes Vueling is a little cheaper for the same flight.

I flew EasyJet from Porto to Lyon in November, and we had no problems. It was a typical bargain airline experience.

That flight was under 2 hours. Your flight from Barcelona will be even shorter.
