Hi All,

Getting ready to go in September, but trying to figure expenses. Can anyone tell me if it's possible to do the Ingles from either Ferrol or A Coruna for $550 (US) or less? Or am I dreaming? Thanks in advance for light you can shed.

Hola Nancy

You'll be able to complete the Camino Ingles for considerably less than 500 dollars. Have a look at the guide: http://www.csj.org.uk/guides-online.htm

As you will see you can walk this route and use albergues at Nedas, Mino and Bruma - but this is quite an arduous way to do it. But if you do they cost 3 euors per night for a bed. In A Coruna and Ferrol you should find a room in a decent hostal for 25 euors or so. In Pontedeume a single room may cost you 12 euros or so, Betanzos - a posting here yesterday confirmed a room at 15 euros, Bruma - albergue or hostal at 18 euros, Sigueiro 18 euros.

Menus of the Day remain around 8 - 10 euors for three courses, bread and a glass of wine and coffee.

So if your budget is $500 you'll have enough to stay in more up market accommodation if you wish or just have money left over.

Let us know how you get on!

Buen Camino

Thanks, John!

It's a relief to know it can be done economically! I appreciate your prompt replay and all the great info on this website for pilgrims!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi,

Usually the Camino is said to be possible to be done for not much more than 1 euro per kilometer.

The Camino inglés since El Ferrol is about 116 km?

Buen Camino,

Hi there. I’m thinking of spending around five to seven days walking the Ingles, and would be interested in getting some input. I’ve walked the Portuges from Porto to Santiago, before continuing...
So, I managed to lose my lovely Tilley hat. Left behind I think, in a shop in Cambre. Going back for it not an option as the place is closed today, Sunday. Am I destined to arrive in Santiago...
