¡Hola!

After some heavy days and much soul searching, I made the switch to the Camino Primitivo instead of quitting or returning to the CdN from Oviedo (via Aviles). Im glad I did. The spirit is always lighter in the mountains.

I hope everyone experiencing doubts finds the strength to stay the camino a little longer, maybe to acclimatize, maybe to recover your joy.

Buen camino, peregrinos!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Well done. I just read your report of the days from Lourdes to St Jean. Brought back happy memories. As it happens, it rained EVERY day when I did it in 2009 and yes mud an issue and barking dogs an issue. But I loved it! I have just walked from Lugo to Sobrado dos Monxes, (linking the Primitivo with the Norte), and it was like those days out of Lourdes. Met no one! Just dogs.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
Good for you Phillip....having to make a decision like that is like going through a squeeze-hole. So glad you made it through and that it is bringing the peace you wanted.

@timr when did you walk from lugo to sobrado dos monxes? And was it not too difficult to find the way? Tried this route 2 years ago and got so lost on the first day- nevertheless still very much loved it! And yes also met the barking dogs:).

Hi @Mailo I did it about three weeks ago (May 2016) and here is a link to what I said about it. I would highly recommend it - better luck next time. The dogs will certainly still be there.....
