Greetings!

I am currently in Barcelona, trying to figure out a way to get to St Jean Pied de Port, and there is so much information, some outdated, and some bus or train services info are not translated into English. I am having a bit of hard time. Can anyone help with current info.

Many thanks!

Marcela,

By train in Spain the route might be:

Barcelona to Zaragoza,
Zaragoza to Pamplona,
Pamplona to Hendaye, see >> http://www.renfe.com/EN/viajeros/

Then by train in France the route might be:

Hendaye to Bayonne
Bayonne to St Jean Pied de Port see >> http://voyages-sncf.com/

Or another solution might be to take a bus from Pamplona to SJPdP as described in this Forum topic >> el-camino-frances/topic18162.html

Buen Camino,

My first time doing the Camino I flew into Barcelona, took the 9am bus from Barcelona Sants Station to Pamplona (24 Euros) and waited for the transfer (4pm) to SJPDP at the Bus station in Pamplona. Barcelona Sants has also trains connections for Pamplona, I think that the bus system would be a better logistics for you. This was very hassle-free. The Barcelona Nord Station also has departing buses for Pamplona. I prefer bus because it placed me in the bus path I needed to be to get to SJPDP. Check http://www.vibasa.com.

In a synopsis, get yourself to Barcelona or Sants Station and you WILL find a path to Pamplona and on to SJPDP.
