Hi, pilgrims :) My name is Ieva (Eve) & I'm going to do my Camino straight from Bordeaux, and then continue Camino Frances. I can't find any information about road from Bordeaux, so if anyone has info, please share with me :)
I have few questions as well: I don't have money for hostels so while I'll walk from Bordeaux, I'm planning to spent my nights under the blue & full of stars sky :) Won't I have problems with local people because of that , what do you think?:) Also how much money approximately should I be prepare to spent in the road from SJPDP to Santiago de Compostela? My needs are very simple.
My Camino from Bordeaux will start 19 of July! I'm solo traveler, this is my first camino, and I can't wait to do it! :D

Hello Eve,

Have a look at these websites for up-to-date info on the Via Turonensis - the route from Paris to Spain. This route takes pilgrims through Bordeaux to St Jean Pied de Port.
The first website gives a list of pilgrim accommodation on this route from Paris to Ostabat.

Most pilgrim shelters charge between €5 and €10 and some ask for a donation.
Many pilgrims have been able to walk the Camino Frances with a budget of between €15 and €30 a day. Some on less - others needing more.

I Hope you have a wonderful walk! Don't expect to meet too many pilgrims in France until you get to around Saint Palais where the other two roads join it before continuing to St Jean where you will join the masses!

Hi Eve
you will find it cheaper from SJPP-I met a dutch guy who carried a tent-coffee-stove and he said his budget was 5 euro's a day-there is a growing number who are doing this, you will find others-plus there is alway a large group sleeping out with camp fires on the quite beach at Fisterra-some extend their stay in Spain working for a bed and food at some of the organic farms in Galicia.
as a father of 3 daughters please forgive me if I say go well but go safe.
Buen Camino
Ian
