Bus from Carrión de los Condes to Palencia (not sure what bus company makes the route but ask locally and they'll tell you) and bus (with Alsa: www.alsa.es/en) or train (with RENFE: www.renfe.com) from Palencia to Madrid. That would be the best route if there's bus service from Carrión de los Condes to Palencia on your travel date. If there wasn't one on your travel date, bus from Carrión de los Condes to Sahagún (with Alsa) and train from Sahagún to Madrid. You might even go all the way from Carrión de los Condes to León (with Alsa) and take one of the high speed trains from León to Madrid (with RENFE) instead of one of the slowler ones out of Sahagún. Or bus from Carrión de los Condes to Burgos and another bus from Burgos to Madrid (both routes with Alsa). Be aware there's less bus service out of Carrión de los Condes on weekends than the rest of the week so avoid ending in a weekend if you can.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
I’d guess that bookings aren’t actually open yet for July 2017, so booking.com is coming up with “not available”. Jill
Could you elaborate on this a bit more? Are you saying that places are reportedly full a year out?!
Sorry for not responding sooner. But yes our next stage is booking out quickly for next July. Were walking from villafranca to carrion de los candes. Its booking out fast. Booking. Com is saying booking out but I've checked with the actual accommodations and it was hard enuf to get our bookings. We are walking with children and I always like to have accommodation in advance.

We like to book private accommodation due to the children and we've had to book one night mixed dorm as that area is booked. Its stopping half way on the meseta.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
