In June we will continue a section hike of the Chemin du Puy. From either Figeac or Cahors we can grab a train...but to where? We'd like to spend a week in Corsica after our hike. I believe there are ferries from Nice and Marseilles, but would it be more economical to just train to Toulouse or (back) to Lyon and fly to the island? Thanks for any help.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

We took the Corsica ferries to get back from Rome to Nice and stayed a few days in Corsica. The ferries were fun, but I think they would be more expensive if you had to spend a night in Nice or Marseilles to use them. Nothing is cheap in those towns!

I think you are right, Newfy. I happened to look at the website for the airport in Toulouse and found that Easyjet flies to Bastia from there. Not expensive. I admit I have spent most of my time poring over the details of our hike on the Chemin du Puy, so I will start researching our side trip to Corsica shortly. In the meantime, any info on the following would be welcomed, keeping in mind that this will probably be our only visit to Corsica...
  1. How much time should we allocate?
  2. Can/should we start and return to Bastia easily? (We would return to Toulouse from Bastia and then fly back to Montreal from there.)

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
