Hot on the heels of the Fundación Catedral de Santiago, founded last week, comes a 2nd foundation, this one aimed at the 'challenges' of the changing nature of the pilgrimage rather than the cathedral itself: academic studies, promotion together with pilgrim welcome, that splendid Spanish word 'el merchandising' (no doubt together with its brother 'el fundraising'), and relations with other bodies. It aims to complement rather than replace the Archicofradia.
I suppose we have to wait and see exactly what comes out of it. There's talk of management of albergues, but how that ties in with existing structures I'm not sure.
