Galician Mojone (distance marker) Specifications... - Accurate measurements and drawings to make your own stone marker...

Attached is the file previously discussed with several Forum members over the past few weeks. I am still dealing with jet lag, but managed to find the originals last night, just before the jet lag knocked me out for the night…at 8 PM.

I just now combined my actual field measurements from April 2016, together with the actual Xunta de Galicia mojone specifications (originally appearing in la Voz de Galicia in early 2016.) Sorry for the size, but the original was too large to fit on a US...

I have to have one. I'm 8,278 km from Plaza de Obradoiro. I'm sure I can get one of the stone masonry workers here in Guatemala make it for me. Whoopee! Thanks

@t2andreo -

Thank you for this!

Emboldened with your data, I have begun the process of making one for our home using 1.5" extruded foam insulation. The design uses scrap cuttings for reinforcing the interior corners and I am slowly building up an in-fill of the cavity with expansion foam. (Too much at one time could cause bursting of the sides.)

Here is the cut-out face plate doing a test-fit of the tile (from Ivar, of course) and distance plate. (The hot glue gun was for stabilizing the pieces cut and pushed in to make the recesses.)

Here is the assembled structure before in-fill. Cleaning the surface, priming and painting will follow before the tile and distance plate are affixed.

I am taking this process very slowly so as to not screw it up....and the brutal heat in central Washington state offers only a narrow window of the day for good results from the work materials.

My great thanks again for your careful attention and effort to this project.
