Hi, I am leaving my apt on Mon morning to start my Camino from Geneva. I have already walked from Le Puy to Leon (Spain). I am looking for tips about accommodation between Geneva and Le Puy. Also, is there any baggage service by chance? Any other tips will also be welcome, regarding places to eat and or buy food. And are the 'Accueils Jacquaires' similar to the Alberges?
Thanks in advance

There will be much fewer walkers from Geneva than from Le Puy, much less from SJPP. The yellow guide http://www.amis-st-jacques.org/page_daccueil.php lists elevation profiles, services, and lodging info. There is no baggage service on the Geneva route. Have the gite host call ahead for you for reservations, if your French is not fluent. There are several camping-grounds along the route; remember that camping-grounds in Europe almost always have tents or small cabins for rent overnight. Buy groceries in towns, remembering that stores close in France onSundays, Mondays, and often for lunch (or whenever they see me coming). The Accueils are private homes, typically in suburban areas and therefore often off-route. I have walked the Geneva route as far as the Rhone, returning next week to finish the section to Le Puy. Please see my blog for daily details (https://kitsambler.wordpress.com/2017/07/10/packed-and-ready-2017/).

I am just back from completing the Geneva route into Le Puy. Lodging from the Rhone westward has been problematic, with many places full. So book ahead by several days. The area around Chavanay was completely booked out - recommend reserving in that area at least a week in advance. Apparently there is a nuclear plant near there, with 6000 employees, that has saturated the local lodging capacity. Food supply points are quite rare - perhaps once a week. Do not count on food resupply in any but the largest towns. Please see other daily details in my blog.
