I have every reason to believe this is a legitimate case, the hospitalera in Zafra has just confirmed it, they are looking for him all over the place.

If you know anything, please contact Guardia Civil or Local Police in Zafra with any information. They also publish a private phone number but I prefer no to publish this here.

If you find there is a better forum for this post, please feel free to move it! Let us hope he is found sound and fine soon!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Apparently he has appeared in some albergue in Zafra, he is no longer missing, if I get any more info I will let you know, the main thing is, he is fine.

As per this photo, the Guardia Civil rural branch (SEPRONA) found him and brought him to the albergue

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Great news that he was found! Exposure to the elements would be a real concern at this time of year. Perhaps its the wording, but did he disappear from and was returned to the same albergue?? I recognise the photo as the Albergue Van Gogh in Zafra..

I do not know more details, I have the feeling other fellow pilgrims were worried about him and reported him being missing when they realized the night was coming and he was not in the albergue (Van Gogh?)

Photos of the pilgrim have been deleted to protect privacy.
Thank you for doing this and being considerate of this pilgrim. i don’t think we need “ updates” on this pilgrims story either unless they update. i think such Threads, if pilgrim is safe and especially safe all along should be deleted for the same reason.

Great news ,good luck to him ,nice that people who have never and may never meet him were worried for him ,camino family worldwide .

Wait, what ? On the contrary, there’s enough censorship these days, sheesh - we should congratulate albergue owner Antonio Puente Mateo for his efforts in looking after Daniel and caring for his co-peregrinos whom all can see in photos on Albergue de Peregrinos Van Gogh Zafra’s Facebook page. (Antonio’s the only one wearing a mask.) I have only met about 200 albergue staff on my caminos but I can say few equal Antonio for true empathy.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Sheesh to you, too!

Our wish to not publish photos of individuals without their permission is intended as a kindness, not censorship! We are thankful to any albergue owner who has taken care of a pilgrim in need, so I don't understand why you are connecting the two thoughts here.

The pilgrim has been found so I will close this thread.
