Getting Back to UK from Santiago

I'm doing the Camino in May 16. I start out on May the 4th (Star Wars Day!) and plan on flying from London Stansted to Biarritz then train to Bayonne and on to SJPDP. I know my Camino is a while away, but I wondered if anyone has any advice about getting back to the UK from Santiago. I'm open to any suggestion (apart from walking back to SJPDP and retracing my route out there - I think my employers would be less than pleased with a 10 week absence!)

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Ryanair run flights from SDC to Stansted or have done recently. Check their website to see if they still run.
If not I believe that EasyJet go to Gatwick from SDC.

I fly loads of times to Santiago and back.. flights daily.....cheaper if you book now........also try and not take the train from to London Stansted airport very expensive .. ....... USE NATIONAL EXPRESS COACHES..

national do a coach through out the day .......if your take the 07:00 am, arrives Stansted airport 11:00 am. cost £32:80 very cheap if you book a return. your flight time is 14:05 perfect

I travelled back by bus from Santiago to Santander (wonderful scenery passing over the Picos Europa then along the coast) then overnight ferry on Brittany Ferry from Santander to Plymouth. This will be more expensive than flying but it is a gentle return to the hurly burly of non-Camino life and Santander is a lovely city.

Unless you live closeby Stansted is like Finisterra, the end of the world! Find a good travel agent-they can often find a good price London-Birritz/Bayonne and Santiago-London if you travel with the same airline. I think 65 quid and eight hours on a bus are too much to pay for zero joy!

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
We took the bus (Freire) to Lugo and then (Monbus) to Ribadeo, then the FEVE through Oveido and to Santander - stayed overnight at each place. Then the ferry to Plymouth (it also goes to Portsmouth on a different day) giving as @SEB says a gentle return to home/working life.

There are also lots of flights from A Coruna to Heathrow and Gatwick. Usually fairly cheap and you don't end up in Stansted airport - the armpit (or worse) of England.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Easyjet fly Santiago to Gatwick. Came back that way on 26th September.
