LIVE from the Camino Getting connected en route

Hi,

I'm going the Camino next month and intend to blog and podcast live from the route. My question is about the provision of internet connections (preferably wifi) on the route. Will it be a case of having to wait for the larger towns and cities to get a connection or will I be able to find somewhere to connect in most of the towns and villages?

Many thanks

When I walked 6 months ago I was amazed at how many cafe-bars and albergues had internet. Some have pay machines some have free internet for pilgrims in the albergues (time restritced). This is something we posted here some time back:

Some cafes and bars offer free WLAN connectivity for their customers

If you look under Coverage, you'll see the places that are wired.

1. An ADSL Wi-Fi Zone is a site or "hot spot" where Telefónica has deployed the infrastructure required to allow public access to wireless broadband Internet for users with a Wi-Fi enabled terminal.

2. Telefónica's ADSL Wi-Fi Zones provide wireless broadband Internet access from any location identified with the ADSL Wi-Fi Zone logo.

3. All you need to have is a terminal (computer or PDA) with an appropriate Wi-Fi communication device installed. Once you are inside the coverage area, just try to surf and the system will request your subscriber code.
4. This service is fundamentally a broadband Internet access service over Telefónica ADSL lines.
