We are planning our first Camino in August 2014. We fly into Madrid Barajas Airport Terminal 4S and plan on taking a train from Madrid to Pamplona where we will start our pilgrimage.

We would like to know the best way to get to the train station from the airport.

Is there a train or bus that leaves from Terminal 4S that takes us to the train station in Madrid? Where do you catch it?

We plan to buy an advanced Renfe train ticket from Madrid to Pamplona. Does the train leave from a station called Puerta De Atocha? It seems there are several train stations in Madrid.

Any advice on how to get from Terminal 4s to the train station would be much appreciated.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
T4 Satellite (S) is connected to T4 by Automatic People Mover (APM), 3 minutes, floor -2.

Trains to Pamplona usually leave from Puerta de Atocha. You can check the itenerary on the Renfe site by entering origen and destination. A list of trains with schedule will result. Click on the train (ie Alvia) and an itenerary will pop up including transfer points.

Thank you for the information! I am unable to open the Madrid.pdf file. Is it posted somewhere else on the form so that I can access it?

So if we take the people mover from the T4 Satellite terminal to the T4, is it best to take a train or bus from T4 to Puerta De Atocha?

There are hundreds of bus companies in Spain. Usually the best tactic is to refer to bus station information at your destination for listings of bus service providers and schedules.
