Getting from Madrid to St Jean

I will arrive in Madrid 03 Sept 12 and need to know the best way to get to St Jean using train/bus. This will be my second Camino but left last from Ronsesvillas.

Spanish train http://www.renfe.es Train to Hendaya ± 6 hours then SNCF train to St Jean 3 ½ hours.
OR:
Spanish train from Madrid to Pamplona (http://www.renfe.es) Afternoon bus to St jean.
OR:
You could also get an ALSA bus from Avenida de America bus station http://www.alsa.es to Pamplona and then the bus to St Jean

If you will be at the airport in Madrid, there are buses directly from the airport to Pamplona:

Sil, I thought the bus went just to Roncesvalles. Has this changed? Is there now a bus that goes all the way to SJPP? That would certainly be good news! Do you know the times and cost?

Nancy, since the Holy Year ALSA has run a bus from Pamplona to St Jean between 1st June and 30 September.
According to Eroski Consumer, they go twice a day at 14h00 and at 17h30 and cost 15€

There is still the daily bus from Pamplona to Roncesvalles - Monday to Friday: 18:00 (July 1 to August 31, 2012 there is another at 10:00)
Saturdays: 16:00 (July 1 to August 31, 2012 there is another at 10:00)
Sundays: No Service
Price: 6 euros

I found some conflicting information on this website: http://www.autobusesdenavarra.com/siv/internet/busquedas.jsp#

It shows only one bus a day from Pamplona to SJPP, for 10 euros...but I am hoping your info is correct, with two departures a day. Either way, I'm eager to try it out when I'm there in September.

The ALSA service ends at the end of September, as does the Conda bus to St. Jean Pied de Port. The Conda service continues to Roncesvalles, but not on Sunday.
