Anyone know the best way to get to Oviedo from Dublin to start the Primitivo. Thanks, Patrick.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
The nearest and most convenient airport is Asturias (OVD). There are buses about once an hour from the airport to Oviedo. You could fly from Dublin to OVD via London or via Madrid. I usually use kayak.co.uk to search for flights as it gives lots of alternatives and prices.

Hmm. Not so simple, is it? I can only offer ideas from Bilbao/Pamplona/Oviedo. Fly to Bilbao, Blablacar or bus to Pamplona, and a lovely train journey to Oviedo. Clearly, going to Santiago and then onwards to Oviedo might be less complicated and maybe less expensive., That is part of it, though, isn’t it? Exploring the options... Buen camino.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Well even Kayak is struggling unless you want long layovers and flights via Barcelona or even Munich

Try instead working backwards from the sites for the airports in Asturias and Santander (3 hour bus trip away from Oviedo) and see where they have flights arriving from in October

Santander from dublin. Take airport buz to bus station and bus to ovieda or if you have time trek to Ovieda

Hi Patrick, if Santander doesn’t work out for your dates, Madrid is also an option. You can get a fast train to Leon and another to Oviedo. Although it seems strange to fly so far south of Oviedo, the train times fit in well with the early Madrid flights from Dublin (from what I can recall).

Thanks so much, that's really helpful. Patrick

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
