Getting to Santo Domingo de la Calzada

Hi,
After really enjoying walking the camino from SJPDP earlier this year I am heading back to pick up where I left off in Santo Domingo de la Calzada. My flight options are into Madrid, Bilbao or Santander. Most of the flights are early morning flights and I would hope to do all my travelling in 1 day if possible and be ready to start walking the next day. I would be very grateful for any advice as to which airport would have best transport links into Santo Domingo. Also any websites where I can check local bus/train timetables.
Thanks
Elsie

The best airport for you it is Bilbao.- From Bilbao by bus to Logroño, and Logroño -Santo Domingo de la Calzada by bus too-.
Suerte and Buen Camino.-

Hi, it looks like your best bet is to go to either Logrono or Burgos (by bus or train presumably) and take a bus to Santa Domingo. It's certainly possible to get to Logrono (which is nearer) by train from any of those airports it probably depends what works out best re timetables.

there is a previous thread about getting there here:
