Gijon start for the Camino del Norte

In 2017 I walked from GijĂłn to Santiago (2015 started in IrĂşn).
Just a heads-up that the walk from Gijón to Avilés is not one of the nicer parts of the Norte (to put it mildly, quite industrial) so don't be disappointed. It gets much better believe me! At one point before Avilés you can follow paseo along the river into the city. Take that route.

I took a train from Gijon to Aviles
I've noticed that many skip the stage as noticed by the huge amount of unfamiliar faces in the albergue in Aviles. Reminds of those that skip the Meseta because it's "not interesting".
