That's apparently a basketball event all day long this Saturday? I actually like it when I see that the locals have a life beyond serving pilgrims. I sometimes think that the plaza looks really sterile ... just pilgrims and tourists, both in their typical poses. Big medieval churches should be teeming with life all around them in all sorts of ways ... that's what it used to be like. :cool:

That’s what I loved about the Plaza de Cathedral in Leon. It’s the center of life in the city, you see that all weekend. When I there it was a weekend when a piano was placed in the square and kids from different music schools came to play, with parents & friends there to support them. The event today seems less organic, far more commercial.
