There seems to be a Google Maps issue which they acknowledged but seem to be taking their sweet time to fix.
In the latest Google Maps release (a week or so ago), the ability to show previously stored tracks that you had loaded into Google Earth then then want to view on your Iphone stopped working. So if you go through the trouble of loading a series of Camino stages via kml or kmz files into Google Earth so that you can use them while you are walking with your iPhone to not get lost - you're out of luck for the moment.
You can still see them in Google Earth but not on the Iphone (not sure about Android).
Of course, they made no announcement of the problem on their in house forums. It just became an issue with more and more people responding on the informal forums.
