Gore-Tex in September's First Week? (Sarria)

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Either trail runners or a hiking shoe will be fine. I just purchased a new pair of Merrell Moabs (my third pair) non-gore-tex for our mid-spring Camino (Burgos to Astorga). Although we might hit some rain, these shoes will dry pretty quickly. I also put Superfeet insoles into all of the shoes I hike in. Buen Camino!

The beginning of September has a good chance of being hot, so I would definitely vote against Goretex which can trap the sweat inside your shoes.
I completely agree. It is not needed at all. A pair of trail runners or sandals are perfect. If it rains take out the insoles stuff your shoes with newspaper when you get to the albergue. Maybe put dry paper in again before you go to bed and you are ready to go the next day.

Plan for dry heat more than rain. You can always drive out non-waterproof shoes, but hiking in non-breathable ones in that type of weather will likely result in blisters.

I will do the Camino Frances since Sarria between the 5th and 10th of september.
Shoes with gore-tex or not? What is the best option regarding the weather?
Gore-Tex is a great material from the outside. It will keep you dryer from the inside. It doesn’t drain nor does it dry very fast. Galicia is known as the Seattle of span and it can be wet. You will receive a lot of varied device. This is only my opinion.

Generally this is not a rainy time; in fact it can still be hot. I don't advise Goretex shoes because you want your feet to breathe.

I only use Gore-Tex in the cold wet and snow other wise I wear trail runners they are comfortable and dry quickly.

My experience with a number of pairs of shoes and boots is Gortex reduces ventilation and lasts only a short while as waterproofing (a day to a few weeks of hiking).
