These kmz files you can use in the free, offline app 'maps.me', which you can download for any android smartphone and Iphone.

Coast route/ Senda Litoral and some variant routes added.

The camino along the coast from Porto on, the Senda Litoral is now included in this KMZ file.

Could some kind soul please explain to this ‘newbie’ in simple steps how to download and import these maps to maps.me?

Thanks for reminding me this false link, I forgot to update it. Soon I need to reorganize all the links again.
There is a new downloadpage:
https://www.santiago.nl/downloads
Here you can find all the downloads we have. On the top right you can googletranslate the page into English. There is also a KML file now (from Christian Pfeiffer) with all the accommodations on the coastal route.
On top of this page you will find a manual how to install maps.me and how to import these KML/KMZ files into maps.me

The direct link to the Portugese routes is now is:
https://www.santiago.nl/sites/default/files/google/Jacobswegen-wandelaars-PT-20171127.kmz

Please let me know if you it is still difficult to import them.

What datafile exactly did you download, and did that file ask you how to open?
