Plan to walk the Camino Frances in Aug/Sep/Oct 2019
Is anyone staying in an Albergue/Accomodation with Konrad, Barbara, Nko & Lorie????
Maybe you could suggest that they refrain from adding their idiotic scrawl to the way markers..... seriously guys, no one want to see it 😢😢😢366C19CA-7E7C-4785-A73F-B79D1CAFAAE4.jpeg

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Could the Pilgrim Office be notified of this and, I know it would be hard because the office is so busy, scrutinize requests for a compostela for any of these names? The date and location of the defacement is helpful evidence as are the sellos in passports which track the nights and locations prior to Km 99 930. Then turn the passports over to the appropriate Spanish police?

Very sad indeed. I like the suggestion fromTMcA. Should I witness defacement or see something like this with recents dates on it I will take a picture and report it to the pilgrim office for sure in my spring Camino.

Hey "Barbara", "Konrad", "Lorie" and "Nico".......you are idiots. Irresponsible and childish.
Also, you are not pilgrims. Not in my book.
Sadly they don't care what we think. They think it's cute.
Marking things now seems to have become de rigeur in a certain strand of popular camino culture - mark the mojones, and then burn your stuff at Finisterre.

And spread the word in albergues, too, as the OP suggests. We can't depend on the PO to educate people, nor hospis. They are all too busy. But we as fellow pilgrims can have a quiet word on the side with whomever it is to (kindly but in no uncerttain terms) tell them that actually this is not the right thing to be doing. Not frothing at the mouth in their faces about vandalism and how stupid it is, but just informing the ignorant.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
You can't get this on the Camino, but China stores have various kinds of paint removers. Anyone serious about removing tags can buy what is available. Get the solvents and some stiff brushes. Alcohol, acetone, and other solvents may not work. Removal is hard work!!! Covering the words in yellow spray paint in the shape of an arrow also will work, but may be ethically suspect...

Yes, I do realize that. I am just venting and reminding them how low their IQ is and how high their selfish level is. That is on the ever so slight chance they read this forum.

I know the police have bigger issues to deal with, but just imagine the gardia going albergue door to hostal door looking for these four idiots. Word would spread pretty fast.
Sadly not for newcomers...

I hope I won't break any forum rule here but their names seems to me like German. That would narrow the search.

Although The Velvet Underground singer was also Nico and she wasn't German :)

Nico was German 🙂

Also I’m not a handwriting expert but it looks like one person wrote all the names.

How about reposting on Facebook on the upcoming albergues FB sites where they might stay so they get called out? 😂

I would advise to be careful with pointing your finger at any one nationality here.
Although Konrad does sound German, there are Barbaras in a number of countries (Barbara Bush comes to mind), Lorie will probably be from an English speaking country and Nico could be from anywhere really.
Also, there could be a number of entirely decent people by those names on the camino right now.
But if the vandalisers keep walking together as a group, they should be easy enough to spot in the coming days.

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles

I'm not pointing my finger, I'm just thinking aloud ;)
That's exactly why I mentioned Nico. And you mentioned BB. Same same...

Indeed she was.
I completely forgot that because her career was (after 16yo) more or less outside Germany. Maybe because of the rape?
Thank you for reminding me about this :)
