Granada to Cordoba in early September

Hi,
I arrive in Malaga on 3rd September, then onto Granada the following day.

I plan to take 6 or 7 days to walk to Cordoba.

I would appreciate any advice on weather at that time of the year.I have twice walked the Camino Frances in July and August and know how to deal with the heat, ie don't get too hot but I am not sure of the conditions further south.

I would also be grateful if some one could tell me where to get a credential (pilgrim passport) in Granada.

many thanks,
Arthur Loughran

Hi Arthur,

My wife and I will be leaving Granada in Mid September and I have compiled some climate details for Granada and Cordoba.

The September details for both cities are:
Granada
Period of record (1994-2010)
Mean Maximum Temp.(°C) 28.8
Highest Maximum (°C) 39.4
Days with Max >=30°C 14
Days with Max >=35°C 3
Mean Minimum Temp (°C) 12.7
Lowest Minimum Temp (°C) 4.0
Mean Rainfall (mm) 22
Mean Days of Rain (>= 1mm) 3

Cordoba
Period of record (1994-2010)
Mean Maximum Temp.(°C) 31.2
Highest Maximum (°C) 41.6
Days with Max >=30°C 19
Days with Max >=35°C 7
Mean Minimum Temp (°C) 17.0
Lowest Minimum Temp (°C) 8.4
Mean Rainfall (mm) 31
Mean Days of Rain (>= 1mm) 3

Temperatures at the start of September will probably be 2 to 3 degrees Celsius above the means for mid September.

Best of luck

Thanks for your wealth of information and the links.
