After a day of almost solo walking up and over the mountains, arrived in Aruntzazu, the end of the second stage of this way, to find that a brand new albergue has opened. It’s enormous and spotless, with a range of room sizes, a good kitchen etc. a bed costs just over 13 euros. And I think that includes breakfast. Heads up though - If you book ahead with booking.com the same bed will cost you 25 euros. You can call the hospiterio Joseba, who speaks good English, on 656 743 148 to book direct. This way is tricky when it comes to pilgrim accommodation so hopefully this is s sign that things are improving, maybe ahead of the centenary in a couple of years. The arrows have also been refreshed, so no real need to refer to your gps if you keep your wits sbout you. So far anyway. See what the way will bring tomorrow. Cheers.
