Greetings all! I first would like to Thank everyone posting on this site….! I’m about to start my first Camino and I’ve found this forum to be extremely helpful and informative….and quite interesting as well…! I am arriving in Pamplona on the 8 May and am looking for a way to get to Roncesvalles on the 9th. I hoping there’s a bus…or a ride share? Peace…James13

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
Welcome to the forum. Please keep ups udated!

I can't answer your questions, but I'm confident that you will quickly be able to organize transport to Roncesvalles. Someone else will likely tell us soon.

Welcome to the forum. There is a local bus, so it is not one you can book ahead. I know it runs from Roncesvalles shortly after 9, and i would expect it to do the reverse at least once if not twice a day.

@kirkie above has the best information or you can catch the bus to St. Jean Pied de Port as it goes through Roncesvalles. There a slight complication with this bus as it crosses the border into France. I don't think that they are supposed to sell tickets to Roncesvalles (different license? Who knows) so ask at the ticket office and be prepared to pay the higher fare. It stops in Roncesvalles to pick up people and so you can get off there but perhaps keep your backpack/luggage on your lap so you don't have to ask the driver to open the luggage compartment.

There is another thread on traveling to SJPdP with good info today on the forum or see https://www.caminodesantiago.me/com...amplona-to-sjpdp-scheduled—-april-2022.73602/

However, @kirkie s suggestion is the easiest so try that first and only look at other options if the local bus doesn't work for you for some reason.

The daily bus from Pamplona to Roncesvalles costs € 4,85. Departure daily at 2 pm, on Saturdays at 4 pm, no bus on Sundays.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-

Yes, @Ianinam, @kirkie and @Doughnut NZ have the correct information, use Artieda. The ALSA/Conda bus makes a stop to pick up passengers in Roncesvalles to go to France but does not have a license from Navarra's government for serving within the province on this route. I suppose if you pay your fare to SJPdP and want to get out early they can't stop you but carry your pack with you, don't check it.

Edit: Sorry @Doughnut NZ, I've duplicated your post.
