Harvest Festival in Navarra sept 15-22 Need help re accomoda

Hi. I just read elsewhere in the forum that it is harvest festival time and that things are booked up for miles around Pamplona. I am leaving from SJPP on the 19th, Orrison on the 20th so I think I'm walking right into it. Nice but... Any suggestions where to try to make reservations. I had planned to stop before Pamplona then walk through the next day (Will have already spent a day there) and then stop for the other night on the other side of Pamplona. I'm feeling that I may have to make reservations at some place. Am I worrying unnecessarrily? Maybe it's just last minute jitters.

The Jesus y Maria albergue in Pamplona will be affected by the number of pilgrims, but not the festival. Ditto Casa Paderborn. So I don't think you need to worry about it unless you are in a mob of pilgrims. In that case, get ahead or behind the mob, and stay in smaller places. There are albergues in Cizur Menor and the next little village, Zariquiegui.

This week there is a fiesta in Zizur Mayor, but I can't see any "fiesta" in Pamplona next week. Check
http://fiestas.net/pamplona/ for this month's fiestas.
Watch out for the fiesta period in Logroño! Everything is outrageously priced at that time.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
In smaller places there are less alternatives and those could be booked up. I don't like the race for beds, but try to get to the next place fairly early. 4pm or 5pm is too late - all the beds might have been taken.

This may be obvious, but even though the word is that the city or town is sold out because of a fiesta, it is always worth checking. I walked into Lugo on the Primitivo this June, arriving on the first day of their huge Roman festival, Arde Lucas. Some of my companions wanted to stay in a pension rather than the albergue and found space in a place within the walls, both for Friday and Saturday nights. And with the economy getting worse rather than better, you can expect tourism to continue to decrease in a lot of these places. Buen camino, Laurie
