Albergue Asteia came up on booking.com, and has excellent reviews, but I can't find it on Gronze, or apps - Wise Pilgrim and Buen Camino. Has anyone stayed there?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi and hope you are well. I checked this place on Bookings.com. I think the municipal in Larasonoana is a nightmare. The picture of the front of the Albergue jarred my memory and I think, I could easily be wrong, that I tried to stay there in 2012 but it was full. I checked on Booking for the date that I would probably be walking there at the end of October and it was $18.00US including breakfast. It looked pretty good. If I do stay in that town I am going to try to stay there that night. Thanks

I also contacted Albergue San Nicolás, and just heard back from them that I have a reservation, so I'll stay there, though Asteia looks very nice. I've stayed at San Nicolás before, and I liked it here, and they have a good communal dinner. I wasn't going to book ahead, other than Orisson, but I guess that I'm a little worried about the first couple of stages being crowded, especially with the municipals closed. Also, I need to slow myself down, since I got shin splints last year from walking too fast. Knowing that I have a bed at the end of the day will allow me to slow down and relax and enjoy my walk more.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I stayed in Casa Elita 7 years ago. Prices seem to have doubled since then, but once it was one of few choices. Now google maps shows accomodation in any part of the village. The municipal albergue was one of the worst in the entire Camino Frances in 2000 and it did not look better when I stayed 2012.
While they made the film "the way" the crew stayed in Casa Elita for a while. The bar was full of photos. Take a look, if you're interested.
