For anyone starting their Camino in the Pyrenees this coming weekend be aware there a forecast for 23cm on Friday pm and continuous and steady rain for the weekend in Biarritz. The radar indication are pretty clear on the satellite images. The flooding expected from this storm has even prompted my insurance company to send me an SMS warning of flooding.

Wow! Over 9 inches in a weekend? Is that not quite unusual for the region?

If the forecast is true, it's more than 9" it might be double that over the weekend. It happened south of Pau last year some time during the late winter.

The current forecast for Roncesvalles is 20cm initially, with another 10cm of snow following. Roncesvalles is a lower elevation than the crest, so it will be colder, windier, and snowier at the top. Watch for snow plows on the road to Valcarlos!!

I might have made the same mistake? that you made, suddenly the weather site is saying 18mm of rain on Friday night and 30mm of rain on Saturday. It is no longer CM's. I think the chance of snow is only in the elevations about 1000m.
What say you?
