3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
For those interested in ancient books, visit the San Isidoro Basilica museum in Leon. They have a room full of ancient texts and a 900 year old Bible.

The Bodleian Library have a web page on the Kennicott Bible with some history and sample photos. A beautiful thing.
And they have digitised all 922 pages:

Not the same as seeing the real thing but still ...

I'm showing my high level of ignorance when I admit that it had not even occurred to me that something like this exists ... a Hebrew bible with beautiful medieval decorations and made in Spain. I've associated these motifs always with books produced by monks in monasteries ...

Beautiful detail in the scanning though - you can even see the different density of ink as the character was written. I imagine that heavy book box has helped to keep it safe over the years.

Perhaps not entirely surprising when you consider the importance of the written text to the Jewish religion. There are a number of lavishly illuminated Jewish manuscripts from the middle ages, generally reflecting the artistic styles of the particular time and place.

I have a confession. I am terrified of - and yes now feel free to laugh - the top bed in bunks with no railing/fence (something to stop you falling out). I've managed to get away with it except...
This is the latest fad for Camino stay out of the wind and woods 🤗.
What are your favorite restaurants, bars, hotels, inns, etc on the Camino Frances NOT in albergues please? Gracias.
We just returned home from watching our second total solar eclipse here in the U.S. in 7 years. Our next is in 20 years. We have become hooked on the magical, mystical, moving unique experience...
Yes, pardon me. So I've just read this cool article about the closing of the Puerta del Perdón in the Monastery of Santo Toribio for the holy year (and it is a very beautiful peurta for sure). It...
