Help! What are these buildings called? History?

These buildings are all on personal property, along the Camino Frances, close to Santiago. What are they called? Does anyone know their history?

They are grain stores, in England we have granaries which are on raised staddle-stones which look a little like mushrooms; the overhang of the "mushroom" preventing rats et al getting at the grain.

On camino in September of 2012 I was also intrigued by these structures and eventually saw one open. People were stacking ears of sweet corn into it. Locals said the horeos keep the grain safe from vermin.

Many years ago,(before I had ever visited Galicia), a friend whose family came from near Santiago told me that they had the largest Horeo in the world there. After having been shown a picture I asked why. She said " Because they only have them there!".
