Help with Buying a Ticket for the Tren Hotel

I am going to be walking on the GR 65 in France, flying into Paris. I will have to stop walking a few days outside of Burgos and plan to get the bus into Burgos and take the overnight train back to Paris (with many thanks to Peter for giving me the link to the Jimenez bus company that does the Logrono-Burgos run). Now my problem is getting a ticket on the train. I can't buy it on the SNCF nor the RENFE web sites. I called RENFE and the attendant quickly made me a reservation, and I thought, boy this is easy. Then she told me the ticket had to be picked up (in Spain) within three days. Apparently there is one travel agent in Paris who also sells RENFE tickets but I won't have time as I'm rushing from CGE to Montparnasse to get a train (having learned too late that the TGV I need that leaves from CDG books up very quickly).

So my plan right now is to call RENFE when we are three days outside of Pamplona, hope there are seats available (it will be about a week before the trip) go to the train station in Pamplona and buy the ticket. Does anyone either have a better idea, or a guess as to whether I'm likely to be able to get a place on the Madrid-Paris overnight train a week ahead of time? (My travel date will be Wednesday, May 31, so hopefully it's a low travel day and a lower travel month). Again, many thanks to everyone who has been so helpful. L.

Hi, tickets on the Madrid-Paris TrenHotel should be available from any travel agent. I'm not sure what country you're from but check http://www.elipsos.com, the company that runs the TrenHotel.

An alternative would be to get the train from Burgos to Hendaye, then the night train from Hendaye to Paris. Although the train from Hendaye only has couchettes, not individual sleeping compartments, it would be much cheaper than the TrenHotel.
