Hiking Buddies wanted

Time of past OR future Camino
Frances (2014), VdlP (2018), de Levante (2022)
I'll be arriving in Malaga, from USA via Madrid, on August 31, with an intention of starting the Camino Mozarabe on Sept 2nd. Anyone care to join me? I have no preference of your gender or age. A bilingual English/Spanish speaker would be helpful. (Two years ago when hiking CF, my pace was roughly 5 km/hr, and I found I enjoyed and needed taking rest breaks every couple of hours, or so.) Just one or more who would enjoy colleagial company, and who also understands the need for "alone time".

I further intend to continue hiking the Via de la Plata from Merida, and going to Santiago via the Sanabres route. With some rest days included, I plan to arrive in Santiago around Oct 28th, departing to USA on Oct 31st.

Best of luck to you, and I bet you will have no problems finding a good walking friend. You would be much too fast for this old gal, and I just got back, anyway. I estimate that I walk 3.2-4.0 km/hr, and I take a lot of breaks too.

I also suggest that it's best to "find your tribe" on the way, as arranging a walking friend beforehand can be disappointing: you might find that your personalities don't mesh, or that they approach a pilgrimage and life differently. Going alone is liberating and always a positive choice, at least, for me.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
At the top right of this post you should see a drop down menu "thread tools" click on that and choose "calendar" then fill in your dates.

CaminoDebita:

Thank you for your reply. Your advice is appreciated and I'll consider your suggestions. I've experienced the liberation of going alone, and found that I was quite comfortable. One of my goals during this upcoming Camino walk is to slow down and be more trusting that the Camino will provide (a bed at the end of the hiking day).

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
