- Time of past OR future Camino
- Baztan and Frances 04/24
Years ago when I was a boy, I was obliged by my school to hike in the Alps, and since these hikes were done in school groups, I was always the one lagging behind and having to be helped by teachers or "moniteurs". I hated that and it carried out onto adulthood.
I discovered Crete ten years ago, and started walking there but was still working basically behind a desk.
One year ago, I was told that I was pre-diabetes and that I had sleep apnea. Apparently these illnesses go together. So besides checking glucose levels each day and watching what is eaten, a CPAP machine is needed to sleep.
One of the elements to conquer both illnesses is to lose weight and to exercise. Last January, I started walking and in March, started hiking, and it was a joy. Funny how life changes.
I have always been fascinated by the Camino de Santiago de Compostella and decided to hike it from where I live basically from AUCH, France, to JACA, Spain and PAMPLONA, in the first event. One month later, this time in April, from PAMPLONA, I will attempt to walk the entire Camino Frances a Santiago. I have selected March 14th as a start date.
