Primitivo (future- August 2015)
I want to walk the Primitivo but only have 8.5 days so was thinking I could try and cycle part of the route. Has anyone done this before and let me know whether it is possible to hire bikes for certain sections? I was thinking maybe from Lugo? The problem I guess if having to hire it in one place and deposit it in another! Very grateful for any advice, Emily

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Emily,
Perhaps this Lugo bike shop might help you.
Good luck and Buen camino!

Thank you so much for very quick reply. I have just completely changed routes and am now flying into Porto but hope to do the Primitivo next year with the same plan of cycling from Lugo so this is great- many many thanks, Emily

Your plan about biking from Lugo raises an interesting compostela question. If you bike the last hundred kms and walk the first 200 or 300, do you qualify for a compostela?

The rules from the pilgrims' office say that you must either walk the last 100 or bike the last 200. This case would probably require a consultation among office personnel, but I'm not sure what the outcome would be. Anyone have an idea? Buen camino, Laurie

I have been trying to find a way to avoid the circus during the last stages of Frances. In two hours you can take the Lugo - Ourense train and walk the last stages on the Plata. Is it a good idea...

Hi all Heading out for a meal tonight and Pilgrim mass before starting the Primitivo tomorrow. Any recommendations on where to get a great meal in Oviedo?
