Hiring a horse?

Phillies

New Member
Does anyone have up-to-date information about where to hire a horse, preferably around Vigo for the Portugese Route. I don't mean tour groups but just hiring a horse to ride on my own. Tour companies seem to advertise the Portugese Way but don't actually run that tour, maybe because of lack of numbers. Previous posts have led to blind alleys for me and I have my heart set on riding at least the Gallego part of the Camino. For this year in August/September.
I lived in Vigo for a while a long time ago and knew local guys with horses but don't know how to get in touch with them. Does anyone reading this live in Vigo??!!

Thanks so much Sillydoll. I realise that my previous post was not sufficiently clear so have edited it. I was thinking I'd try to hire a horse, do it independently and avoid the tours. I'd actually LOVE to do that but don't know how to find just a horse.

Here are my results with your wonderful suggestions.

I had already written to them and they replied with only the French Route. I have written again to ask about the Portugese Route.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
Hi -- I see the posts in this forum are 10+ years old. I'm going on my camino in September and October this year (2022), and am curious about riding from Santiago to Finisterre and Muxia. I'd be happy with a partial route even, in October. It appears many of the links from 2012 are no longer valid, so I'm wondering if there are new ones that could be posted. Pretty much all I could find is this one: https://www.caminoacaballo.com/en/o...-to-finisterre-trail-to-the-end-of-the-world/
