I went through the holy door in Santiago Cathedral last week, a few days before it closed. Now, I am not sure why. It was a very low-key experience, with only the security guard there to insure that I did not go out of it again. I did not perform any of the other requirements for getting a pass on purgatory, nor could I have, not being a Roman Catholic. I suppose it was the "last chance" feeling about the experience. I hope that those of you to whom this opportunity was very meaningful have experienced the satisfaction that you expected in walking through.
