You may be wondering why I am announcing this well, I am about to email San Martin to cancel all eight nights of my reservation because I will not be going on pilgrimage this year, so if anyone is looking to stay in Santiago Sunday, September 18th and any nights through Sunday September 25th may I suggest you email them right away and ask for a reservation as I'm pretty sure they are full up by now. This is such a great place. A pilgrims room is 25 Euro per night. A private room, private bathroom with shower and includes a great breakfast (ask for a pilgrim room) and is right in the heart of Santiago old town, across from the Cathedral.

E-mail: reservas@sanmartinpinario.eu

My cancellation email just sent.
Happy St James Day! 🥰

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Just out of interest, why did you make reservations for 8 nights?

Hmm, well things come up while walking a pilgrimage and I wasn't sure what date I would arrive in Santiago (I would give 24 hour cancellation notice if not able to arrive on the 18th etc...). Also, I was going to cancel a night or two (again 24 hour notice) to go to Finisterra but again, not sure what those dates would be until I'm on my way. Lastly, I love spending multiple days/nights in Santiago, it feels like home. It saddens me to not be there but I trust in Gods timing and it's not this year.
Pilgrims often walk into San Martin same day and get a pilgrims room if available.
I hope my answer curbs your interest. 😁

Sure things come up walking a pilgrimage 🙂

Well nowadays pilgrims never walk into San Martin Pinario and are able to have a pilgrims room the same day, simply because they are fully booked weeks ahead (at least in the summer season, where in my case no rooms have been available 1 week before arriving in Santiago this year, 2021, 2019 og 2018), due to... 😉

In regards to your last sentence, I don't know... 😉

Sorry you can't, but very good of you to give others an option. Hope your turn comes around again before too long..🚶‍♂️

A lovely gesture. I stayed there in Oct for several nights and loved every moment. Emailed on a whim close to my stay and was rewarded…the Camino provided right to the end of walking and it continues. Blessings to all.

I was one of those who has walked into San Martin Pinario upon arrival in Santiago, without a rez, and was given a pilgrim room. So, thank you, @FourSeasons, for thinking ahead and possibly providing for other last minute arrivals! 🙏

Does anyone know a good shop I SDC where they have local cheeses, hams and other delicacies to take home?
The Galicia Rail pass is available to anyone who completes the Camino and is awarded the completion certificate. It allows for 3 days of train travel and also discounts to other places you may...
Has anybody recently volunteered at the Pilgrim office for the 15 day timeframe? Where did you stay in Santiago?
For those who are in Santiago 🙏🏻
