Hostal in Pamplona

In 2003 myself and two others arrived very late at the albergue on Ansoleaga. It was full but the hospitalero made a call and got us rooms at a pension on Calle Mercaderes. I think the name was Pension Lambertini, 4th floor, run by an older lady. Good, clean very nice, 18 euros for a single room at that time. Don't know if it is still there or what the price might be now.

Refuges in Pamplona

Hola Leigh,
There are 3 refuges in Pamplona and you would be welcomed at any one of them.

1) Albergue del Camino de Santiago de Pamplona - E4 C/Ansoleaga 2, Pamplona, 620 57 30 74

2) Albergue de Religiosas Adoratrices - E5 Dos de MaNo. 4, Pamplona,
3) Albergue Smaiur - E2 Fuente del Hierro

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Hostal in Pamplona

Yes I know there are now a number of albergues, including Paderborn. I was remiss in not telling "beanpot" to try one of the albergues before looking for a hostal. However, he/she did ask about a hostal, and I therefore suggested the one on Mercaderes, to which a hospitalero was kind enough to direct me.

I saw the albergue on Dos de Mayo in 2005, and though I did not stay there (went on to Cizur) it looked very roomy and nice.
