Hi, two of us travelling to SJPP early June for one week only. We've pre-booked accommodation (last year) and are reconfirming this week. We can't get a reply/response from Hosteria de Zubiri in Zubiri. Does anyone know if it has closed down? I'm seeing conflicting stories on the internet and social media. Just want to know if we should put in plan b?
Thanks, two ladies from Ireland

In case the Hosteria in Zubiri is not open the private albergue, El Palo de Avellano, is VERY nice and has good food. They offer both dorm rooms and private accommodations.

The only difficulty is the camino descent from the Alto de Erro to Zubiri ; this can be treacherous hell in bad weather such as heavy rain, sleet or snow. Hence from the Alto I have often descended off camino on the parallel road N135.

Good luck and Buen camino!

Thanks for that and the good advice. I'll remember the parallel road weather dependent.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
