Hostal Vicky in Barajas has been warmly recommended on the forum fairly recently. No personal experience, yet. I'm planning on staying there early December.

Try looking at www.booking.com for the latest prices and comparisons.
I fear getting a hotel this late will cost you.
I have found the earlier I book, the less it costs.
I've already booked my rooms for April 2016.
But booking will have some current prices.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Hostal Viky in Barrajas, in walking distance of Terminals 1 to 3, is where we have stayed on many occasions. The nearby village square has various restaurants with good food and early breakfast. The owner of the hostal arranges transport to/from the airport. Can recommend.:)

There is a four star hotel in Chamartin Station. I didn't try it because I figured 4 star to be too expensive, however after the fact I looked up the price and found it not unreasonable.

Else there is not much in vicinity of the station. The main district is SOL where there are hundreds to choose from - 10 minutes by metro.

I stayed at the wonderful Hostal Santillan on the Gran Via - - delightful, huge clean rooms and very reasonable for the centre of Madrid - easy to get to. Might not be what you need now but any future trip to Madrid do stay there.
