Time of past OR future Camino
I'm going on my camino September 24 thru October 10, 2014.
Any good tips of an inexpensive hotel to stay in my last night in Santiago?
Thank you in advance…

Hi, falcon,
You can make a reservation for the albergue floor only by phone or email. They will take your credit card number for a guarantee.

If you've been able to get a room just by dropping in, you have been really lucky, because on my recent caminos, I've always found that the place was full by noon and was glad to have called ahead. Buen camino, Laurie

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
There are lots of great places to stay. But keep in mind the closer you are to the cathedral and the surrounding busy streets, the noisier it is at night. Booking.com will help you immensely.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Booking.com if it's a proper hotel you're after. I like the miradoiro de belvis, but not sure if 'inexpensive'

To each his own, but for me one of the many joys of staying in Santiago is being close enough to the cathedral to hear the great bells toll the hours as they have throughout time.

Two nights ago we stayed at the PR Barbantes/Libredon...right around the corner from the Cathedral. Very nice, convenient location and you could hear the bells quite well. But the party goes on all night long.
