Hotels between San Juan and Burgos

Hi!

I'm planning on pushing the Belorado to San Juan segment (Brierley's stage 12) to get mid-way between San Juan and Burgos, but I can't find a convenient hotel. I was hoping for a stop at Cardenuela or Orbaneja, to leave me with about 15 kms to get to Burgos the next morning. Want to catch the 12:12 train in Burgos to get to Sarria. Brierley says there is a casa rural, Fortelaza, but it looks like it's only rentable as a cottage and not by the room. Does anybody know? Thanks.

Atapuerca is a nice little place to stay. It's a bit further from Burgos than you'd like (20kms or so) but you could do it with an early start. The albergue there is nice and has a garden for sitting out and drying clothes etc.

The walk to San Juan is pretty boring and goes on for ever. Walking into Burgos can be even worse, so select one of the alternative routes into Burgos. Not the main road.

Or walk to Villafria de Burgos and take the city bus into Burgos!
