How do I find train from MAD for Sevilla?

Arriving in Madrid within hours. Can someone tell me where to go in airport and which station to choose in Sevilla?

You will have to get yourself to Atocha train station. There are lots of trains to Sevilla from there. Whether you take the airport bus or the Cercanías train depends on which terminal you arrive in at the airport and how much time you have. If you are arriving in T4 (on Iberia or a partner), it's quite easy because the Cercanías train has a stop there. If you arrive in T1, 2, or 3 it is more complicated. I would ask at the information desk if they recommend taking the airport bus to Atocha or taking the intra-airport bus (very frequent and only takes about 10 minutes from T4 to T2) and then the train to Atocha.

EMT Madrid #203 bus Airport Express (Bright Yellow bus) goes from several locations at airport to Puerta de Atocha Renfe Station where it terminates.

Cercanias train goes from Airport T4 to Puerta de Atocha.

Madrid Metro goes from Airport T1T2T3 and T4 to Puerta de Atocha (Renfe Atocha). This involves transfers.

As has been stated, Santa Justa Seville is probably the best choice.

Once you arrive at Atocha, the AVE departures are up the escalators. If you have your printed or electronic boarding pass you just need to show it to the security agent. They scan your bags and off you go to the gate. There is food for take out at the gate itself if you are hungry. Food on board as well.

It turned out to be amazingly easy thanks to all the help from y'all. We are on the high speed AVE on the way to Sevilla now.

Glad to hear that cher is on her way! Just one heads up that I made in another post. An important bit of information is that the Cercanías trains leave the T4 only twice an hour, close to the hour and the half hour, so that might add a lot of time to your travel depending on which terminal you arrive in and what time you get to T4.

I did have to take the intra-airport bus just about a week ago and it comes very frequently. We actually left T4 on that bus at about 10 after the hour and by half past the hour or shortly thereafter, we had checked into a flight, gotten through security and were waiting to board the plane. It was a frantic mad rush, but in the end we were fine.

@peregrina2000 I can sure see how that could make a BIG difference in getting out and I'm glad that you brought it up. I intend to be on the V de la P only a couple of weeks and then have a plethora of other fun commitments. I sure don't want to waste precious time hanging out at MAD or waiting for trains.

Just a side note but the taxi from the airport to any location in Madrid is just $30 euro ( at least that was the cost last summer ) and for those of you from the USA
there is absolutely no reason to tip. They don't expect it.
