We are planning to join our son in Rabanal for the last 250k of the Camino and are flying into Santiago. Any ideas of how we might get to Rabanal from Santiago? :D

The Alsa bus company stops in Astorga on their route from Santiago to Madrid. You will probably then have to take a taxi to Rabanal, as there are only a couple of buses in the week from Astorga to Rabanal! Or of course, you could walk there (takes about 4/5 hours). Anne

Oh dear we we slow we took 6.5hours
We however did see an amazing MOON setting in the main street of Astorga @ 0430 (that's when our Camino started)

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Taxis in Spain charge about €1 per km so it will cost you about €22

It's a good way to start your camino from Astorga before meeting your son that afternoon in Rabanal, the next day is a 'big' day with height, emotions etc :)

Does anyone know the frequency of buses from Santiago to Astorga? Also, how to get from the Santiago airport to the Santiago bus station? I am thinking of taking that route in November. Thanks, Ali
