Sarria to Santiago (2018)
Hello everyone,
My friend and I are planing to to the Camino walk, starting from Sarria. It is the first time for us. We'll be landing to Madrid airport on September 27, 2018 around 2 PM. We really want to get to Sarria on the same day so we can start the walk the next day, 9/28. Could you please give us some ideas on how to get to Sarria? We're thinking of taking an overnight train there. Is it possible? Thank you so much for your help. I can't wait to do the walk. I've been dreaming of doing this or a long time.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I do not know how long your originating flight is, or from where?
Check out https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Madrid-Airport-MAD/Sarria for options.
It will probably take you about 6-8 hours travel time from your departure on the bus, train and/ or plane. Probably the quickest way to get there would be to get a flight to Santiago de Compostelo....check out Iberia.com. Then take a cab directly to Sarria. The cab would cost about 150euros. However, it would probably get you there with the least fatigue and signicantly cut your commuting time down.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
The last bus to Sarria from Lugo is at 2045. ALSA buses departing Madrid until 1645 for Lugo will meet that last bus. After that, you will be somewhere overnight, Madrid or Lugo.
